The main ingredients in StamoxVet beet concentrate that contribute to these benefits are the high nitrate content, betaine and several bioactive compounds with antioxidant properties and other beneficial effects. When consumed, “dietary nitrates” (nitrates bound to nutrients) are converted in the body into nitric oxide (NO), which plays a crucial role in various physiological processes.

Research on human athletes has shown that supplementing with beet juice can improve time trial performance, reduce oxygen consumption during exercise and prolong fatigue time. A study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that beet juice improved the performance of endurance athletes by increasing the efficiency of mitochondrial ATP production (the cell’s energy currency).

While specific research on StamoxVet Beetroot Concentrate in racehorses is limited, studies on nitrate supplementation in animals suggest similar benefits. For example, research on equine exercise physiology has shown that dietary nitrates can improve cardiovascular function and muscle oxygenation, potentially leading to improved performance in endurance activities.

The role of nitric oxide in vasodilation and muscle oxygenation is well documented in the scientific literature, providing a strong theoretical basis for the use of StamoxVet to improve athletic performance, including in racehorses.

DAILY USE: Give your horse 2 or more tablespoons of StamoxVet daily (up to 20 g/day), 2 or 3 hours before exercise. Most horses like the taste of StamoxVet when blended into water, mixed with some feed or with molasses.

BREEDING/GROWING HORSE DAILY USE: Give your horse 2 or more tablespoons of StamoxVet twice a day (up to 20 g/day). Most breeding/growing horses like the taste of StamoxVet when blended into water, mixed with some feed or with molasses.

BEFORE A RACE: Before a race or competition, give your horse up to 5 tablespoons (50 grams), 2-3 hours before the race. For endurance races (more than 1 hour) it is recommended that you should also give another 5 tablespoons right before the start of the race, mixed in water.

THERAPEUTIC USE: For therapeutic use, StamoxVet can be used by giving 5 tablespoons, 3 times daily. When agreed upon with your veterinarian, you may also add an even higher dose. Note that in higher doses, urine and stool may stain red.
