– Oxygen-rich blood reaches the muscles and organs faster, delaying or preventing oxygen depletion depending on the horse’s workload.
– Waste products like carbon dioxide (CO2) and lactate—both acidic metabolites—are removed more efficiently, reducing muscle fatigue and delaying the onset of acidosis.
2. Enhanced Oxygen Delivery to Muscles
– The bond between oxygen molecules and hemoglobin in red blood cells is weakened, making it easier for oxygen to be released into the muscles.
– This ensures a more efficient supply of oxygen, which is crucial for endurance and performance.
3. Increased Cellular Energy Production
– The horse’s muscle energy comes from ATP molecules, produced in mitochondria through the Krebs cycle (also called the citric acid cycle). – The bioactive molecules in StamoxVet optimize this process, potentially increasing ATP production by up to 15% in theory, though practical benefits of around 5% are more likely.
4. Improved Cognitive Function
– Enhanced blood flow to the brain may improve focus and mental sharpness. – Horses using StamoxVet may exhibit a better competitive mindset and increased concentration, though further research is needed to understand the full scope of these effects.
When these effects are combined, they may lead to a significant increase in a horse’s performance.
In human studies, cyclists exercising on stationary bikes have demonstrated measurable improvements in power output when taking Stamox before training. This is determined using heart rate monitors, oxygen level sensors, and watt measurements on the pedals. For more details on human use, visit www.stamox.com.
How Safe Is StamoxVet?
StamoxVet is approved by the Olympic Anti-Doping Laboratory in Cambridge and at the Equine Forensic Unit in Dubai, confirming that Stamox does not contain any unwanted substances. This means you can trust StamoxVet as a 100% legal, trustworthy and safe supplement. StamoxVet contains a controlled level of nitrates, ensuring it remains within limits
Suggested Use for Horses
DAILY USE: Give your horse 2 or more tablespoons of StamoxVet daily (up to 20 g/day), 2 or 3 hours before exercise. Most horses like the taste of StamoxVet when blended into water, mixed with some feed or with molasses.
BREEDING/GROWING HORSE DAILY USE: Give your horse 2 or more tablespoons of StamoxVet twice a day (up to 20 g/day). Most breeding/growing horses like the taste of StamoxVet when blended into water, mixed with some feed or with molasses.
BEFORE A RACE: Before a race or competition, give your horse up to 5 tablespoons (50 grams), 2-3 hours before the race. For endurance races (more than 1 hour) it is recommended that you should also give another 5 tablespoons right before the start of the race, mixed in water.
THERAPEUTIC USE: For therapeutic use, StamoxVet can be used by giving 5 tablespoons, 3 times daily. When agreed upon with your veterinarian, you may also add an even higher dose. Note that in higher doses, urine and stool may stain red.
Practical considerations
Dosage:
The optimal dosage for horses is still being studied, but it is generally recommended to start with a small amount and monitor the horse’s response. A 500 kg horse might need between 20 and 100 grams administered 3 hours before a race.
Timing:
To maximize performance gains, beet juice should be administered a few hours before training to allow sufficient time for the conversion of nitrates into nitric oxide.
Monitoring:
As with any supplement, it is important to monitor the horse for possible side effects and consult a veterinarian to ensure that the dosage and administration are appropriate for the individual horse.
Considerations:
Nitrate is an active compound in StamoxVet, but excessive intake can lead to acute toxicity. Therefore, administration of more than 200 grams is not recommended. Acute toxicity is unlikely unless a horse ingests 1000 grams or more. However, if other feed or drinking water also contains significant amounts of nitrate, 1000 grams (1 kg) of StamoxVet powder could be too much. Using a maximum of 200 grams is considered a safe but high dose.
